If flying in, we recommend Traverse City (TVC, approximately 1.5 hours from Walloon Lake / Petoskey area) or Pellston Regional Airport (PLN, approximately 30 minutes from Walloon Lake / Petoskey area). Both airports have rental cars available.
Lodging Recommendations
For the full lake experience, we recommend staying on or as close to the lake as possible. That includes AirBnB and Vrbo near Walloon Lake Village or around the lake (see map below). Hotel Walloon is without a doubt the best option, it is centrally located and the perfect place to stay on the lake.
If these options don’t work for you, we recommend the Perry Hotel, which is located right in downtown Petoskey, about a 15 minute drive from wedding festivities and close to some good eats / shopping. We also have hotel blocks at The Hampton Inn & Suites and The Holiday Inn Express, both of which are less than 10 minutes from wedding festivities and downtown Petoskey.
